Christ Has For Sin Atonement Made (Hymn)

Christ Has For Sin Atonement Made
Elisha A. Hoffman (1891)

We are redeemed, the price is paid
What a wonderful Savior!

Refrain

What a wonderful Savior is Jesus, my Jesus!
What a wonderful Savior is Jesus, my Lord!

I praise Him for the cleansing blood
What a wonderful Savior!
That reconciled my soul to God
What a wonderful Savior!

Refrain

He cleansed my heart from all its sin
What a wonderful Savior!
And now He reigns and rules therein
What a wonderful Savior!

Refrain

He walks beside me in the way:
What a wonderful Savior!
And keeps me faithful day by day;
What a wonderful Savior!

Refrain

He gives me overcoming power
What a wonderful Savior!
And triumph in each trying hour
What a wonderful Savior!

Refrain

To Him I’ve given all my heart:
What a wonderful Savior!
The world shall never share a part:
What a wonderful Savior!

I thought that this hymn was called “Wonderful Savior”, but I found the lyrics under this title so apparently I was incorrect.  But regardless of the title, this is a great hymn.  Just the title (either one!) is a wonderful statement.  “I praise Him for the cleansing blood… that reconciled my soul to God.”  That is indeed something for which to praise Him!  He has for sin atonement made and He is a wonderful Savior!

I thought it was Wonderful Saviour too!

“I praise Him for the cleansing blood
    What a wonderful Savior!
That reconciled my soul to God
    What a wonderful Savior!”

Easter is a-coming but we can celebrate it everyday!

Thanks as always for sharing and thanks for the updates on the right 🙂

    Blessings,

    • I know of another hymn that is definitely called “Wonderful Saviour” but I’m glad I’m not going crazy. 🙂 I enjoy the whole Easter season and I like anything that makes me think about it. I will probably need continuous “friendly reminders” about the updates. 🙂

  2. The lyrics are wonderful! Words cannot adequately express how much I love the Lord, and thank Him, for the redeeming blood of Christ! I am so grateful, to have Christ in my life! What would my life be without Him? It would be lonely, dark, and drear! That’s why I am so grateful, truly grateful, to have Christ in my life! Praise God, I have been reedeemed!

Thank you so much for sharing this song! God bless you!
