Resolutions: Go and Tell

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Mark 16:15

And how shall they preach, except they be sent?  as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things!

Romans 10:15

As Christians, we have a responsibility.  It is our job to the message of the gospel to the world.  This thought occurred to me a couple of years ago: if we don’t tell others about Jesus, who is going to?  The world is not going to get the message of salvation to itself.  The Devil is not going to tell people about how Jesus Christ died for their sins.  If we as Christians don’t do it, it’s not going to get done.  To me, that is a convicting thought.

All around us, people are troubled and burdened with problems.  And no matter what specific problem a person might be facing, their most dire need is that of a Saviour.  And we know that Saviour!  It is that message that needs to get out.  It is the message of hope which so many people desperately need.

We don’t have to be pastors or preachers to reach out with the gospel to those around us.  As long as we are friends and neighbors and citizens, we surely have someone with which we could share gospel of Jesus Christ.  Some of us may have different talents and abilities than others of us, but all of us can resolve to do a better job of getting the message of salvation through the finished work of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world!

  1. Thank you, Ben, for giving us the resolution to do that too. After all, it is good news we have to share . . .and who doesn’t like to share and received good news! 😉 God bless you as you go and tell!

Just today a customer in a store advised me not to buy a product I had been looking at. She said it didn’t work. I put it back. I don’t know here from Eve but I trusted her and I put the product back on the shelf. Why? I have offered my (unsolicited) advice in similar fashion to people I’ve never seen before. I’ll call friends and let them in on a good deal I found. Why should telling others about what Christ has done be any less of a natural occurrence?

“if we don’t tell others about Jesus, who is going to?” The visual of someone whistling while looking the other way is making me laugh out loud but the reality of your question is one we will have to answer to. We have been given the mandate to go and tell, go and tell we must.

Praying that we will use the opportunities God sends. Thank you for stirring my thoughts to share His love.

    Blessings

    • Great analogue! I hadn’t looked at it like that before, but it’s true. Telling others about Him should be a natural occurrence, but sadly, sometimes it’s hard to do. I too need to pray that we will use the opportunities He sends. I would love to bring someone to Him this year!

  3. A hefty responsibility indeed. May we all learn to be more generous with spreading the truth about Jesus. Blessings
